Visit from Grandma and Grandpa A

We had a fun past few days-Steve's parents came out for a visit. It is so fun and refreshing to see family, we love when we have that opportunity.

We did a lot of fun things while they were here. They babysat for us one night so Steve and I went on a date. We had dinner at Barcelona, a tapas bar in SoNo and then we went and saw "Horton Hears a Who." (I know, we get a night out without the kids and we go see a kids show, but nothing else sounded good.) We really enjoyed our night out, so thank you Jim and Renae for watching them.

Sunday night we decided to drive up to Mystic, CT and stay overnight. It was a nice short drive, about 1 1/2 hours from here and the girls slept the whole way, so that made it even nicer. We went and got some Mystic pizza for dinner that night and then took Abi swimming at the hotel.

The next morning Steve took Abi swimming again (she's half fish we decided, she just loves the water) before we had to check out of our hotel. After we got some breakfast we headed to the Mystic Aquarium. This place was amazing! It had 3 HUGE beluga whales, penguins, sea lions, seals, sharks, eels, piranhas, bats-everything. We were able to watch them feed the whales which was really neat-the coolest part was all the different sounds the whales make. They call them the canaries of the sea because of their ability to make these sounds. Abi's favorite were the penguins, unfortuantely our camera battery died before we got to see them so I have no pics of them. We stayed there for a couple of hours and then drove around Mystic for a bit. What a fun, quaint New England looking town. It was pretty cold so we didn't get out of the car. Eventually Abi fell asleep so we decided to head home. The girls slept the whole way home too, so we really lucked out with our traveling.

Abi was just in heaven having her grandma and grandpa (now known as "Kiddo" in these parts) here. As soon as they'd show up each day she would switch into hyper mode. We are so excited to get to go see them and the rest of our families in July.

What a cool aquarium! It does look cold though. I also enjoyed your post about the Pepsi in the kitchen. I have done that with pasta sauce, and it was even on the ceiling, so you may want to look up!
