I have been really striving lately to build our food storage now that we actually have room to do so. For some reason I have truly felt and urgent need to get started. Steve has been a great help in this, we went to Home Depot a few weeks ago and got some shelving for it and have now begun the joy of building up our food storage. Every time I go to the grocery store I try to buy at least one thing to put in our storage, whether it's a few extra cans of black beans, an extra package of toilet paper, or the store brand hand soap that's on a really good sale. It will take some time to build it up, but I am already amazed at how it looks compared to a few weeks ago-Little by Little!
The thought of getting a full year's supply of food and other household necessities really felt like a daunting task, but this approach has really made it do-able. My sister just emailed me this wonderful talk out of the Ensign that is really inspiring and takes away the overwhelming feeling of trying to get your food storage in order.
That urgent feeling of needing a food storage is now gone and I know that if a time arises that we are unable to get to the store or that money is scarce we will be taken care of and blessed because we are following the counsel of the Prophet.

I'm with you on this. I feel the urgency as well. I am building my supply very slowly. Good luck. I'd love to hear more tips!
We felt this urgency after we moved from Greenwich. Little did we know that we would be using our food storage while we have been out of a job. It has been very helpful. We have also learned what things we like and don't like in our food storage.
I take great comfort in Pres. Hinckley's counsel of "little by little" - because I feel like every month if I add just something extra, I'm doing okay - we'll get there.
Good for you!! :)
I am glad that talk helped! I even used part of it in my Relief Society lesson this week. Keep up the good work! We are trying to do the same here.
So fun to see your blog! I love your family so much. I loved the funnies in the right column...he, he! Awesome motivating article on food storage! Thanks for inviting us to visit!
