A fun trip to the zoo

Utah's Hogle Zoo

Yesterday Abi and I took a trip to the zoo along with my sister Kat and her two kids, Zach and Makayla, and my sister-in-law, Jill (who is married to Steve's bro plus is Kat's husband's sister-good luck figuring out this tangled family tree!!!) and her kids, Amanda, Sydney, and Brandon. Renae offered to keep Emma since it was hot.

We had a great time, the weather was wonderful! The kids loved seeing all the fun animals-I think Abi's favorite were the elephants. She didn't like this big elephant as much as the real ones, this one made a noise and shot water out of the trunk-it scared her a little bit.

She was not by any means scared of the Peacock-she wanted to touch it...

We also got to see "The Ghost of they Bayou," a white alligator-not an albino, an alligator with no skin pigment...it was pretty cool to see.

Here we are heading in to see the alligator, it was in a building all by itself-it was nice and humid in there, kinda felt like home. I was tempted to leave Abi in there for a while to see if her skin would soften back up-it hates this dry Utah air.

We also took the kids on the train, they loved it!!! It was a pretty short ride, but probably just perfect for the little ones. Zach and Brandon especially loved it-they are obsessed with trains.

After the train ride it was almost time to go, be we decided to let the kids play at the little playground while Kat fed Makayla.

It was a really fun day and wore Abi and me out, unfortunately Abi only slept for as long as it took us to get from the zoo to pick up Emma-about 20 minutes.
