We've been having lots of fun this week, Kat and cute little Makayla came to visit for a few days. They got in late on Wednesday night. Thursday we were off to the races. We started our visit with a trip to the Maritime Aquarium. The girls had a great time seeing all the fish and just goofing around. They have a neat exhibit going on right now, an albino alligator. The kids weren't as interested in it as Kat and I were. The rest of that day we just took it easy, went to Stew Leonards, let the kids nap, and had dinner.
Friday we drove into the City for a day of touring. We started off with a quick walk by the Temple. It's really neat to see the Angel Moroni pop up out of nowhere amongst all the tall buildings and the mass of people. After that we walked along Central Park over to FAO Schwarz. The plaza right outside was completely packed and we found out that Rhianna was performing...I don't know much about her music, but it was kinda neat to see all the chaos. We had fun playing around in FAO-we got to see the big piano, some really neat dollhouses, fun Lego creations, and lots of other fun stuff.
After FAO we decided to head up to Rockefeller Center Plaza. We took the elevator up to the "Top of the Rock." It was such a clear day we could see on forever, we even could see the Statue of Liberty up there-I don't remember ever seeing it from up there before. This was a good way to let Kat see all the sights of NYC...we could see all of Central Park, The Empire State Building, The Chrysler Building, The GM building where Steve's been working for a year and a half, and lots of bridges. By this time the girls were wearing down, along with our legs, so we decided to head back to the car. We had a long walk ahead of us, so we stopped at Jamba Juice to keep Abi entertained. When all was said and done, accoring to my pedometer, we had each walked over 5 miles-that's a lot when you're pushing strollers and trying to keep little ones happy.
Today we took a ferry out to a beach in Greenwich called Island Beach. It was BEAUTIFUL and so much fun. We went kind of early so we beat the crowds. It was a bit overcast so we weren't melting, it all turned out perfectly. Abi was in heaven playing in the water. Even Emma and Makayla loved being in the water and the sand.
It has been so fun to have Kat here to keep me entertained and help keep my sanity while Steve's in Korea. Thanks Darin and Zach for letting us borrow Kat and Makayla for a few days. Sorry if we've worn them out completely, but we've enjoyed every minute of it!!!

we are tired, but having so much fun. It has gone too fast!
You really know your BIG CITY! Sounds like fun! I know, visits from family ALWAYS go way too fast...it's depressing! I leave to go home in two days for 2 weeks, YAH!
Wow, that week was jammed packed of fun activities. Reading what you guys did wore me out, I can't imagine actually doing all these.
I am glad your sister was able to come out here and hang out with you and the girls.
You and your sister have the same smile.
Yeah for sisters! Looks like you guys had a great time. Glad you could have some company while Steve's been away!
So did you make it out to Liberty Island or just gaze from afar? I'm so glad you had company while Steve was away. I hope for your sake and sanity he comes home soon. Its tough when the husbands travel!
Too fun! I am glad Kat got to come see you before you move back to Utah! Ü
Mmm..Stew Leornard's tortillas! I hope you made her shredded pork ala Cafe Rio!
