Finally feeling like part of the family

Last year for Christmas my sweet Mother and Father-in-law gave all the one year olds a Tickle Me Elmo Extreme. I was so excited for Abi to get this, I thought she would love it to death and laugh her head off. Well, the first time she tried it Elmo bent over laughing and Abi's hand happened to be right there and it scared her to death instead. Over the last year we kept getting it out in hopes that she might warm up to it-we'd even try letting her play with it while it was turned off-well as soon as she'd see that thing she'd start shaking and backing up saying, "all done, all done!" We finally decided a few days ago that we were just going to donate it to Goodwill or something since space here is limited and we could use the space for something else.

Steve got the doll down and gave it one last try with Abi and she still was terrified. Emma was in the room at the time and kind of perked up when she heard Elmo. Steve decided to try it out on her and see what she thought. Emma was loving it! She had the biggest grin on her face and was grabbing it trying to play with it. It was finally a HIT! Well, not to be outdone by her little sister, Abi mustered up the courage to come close to it and actually touched it!!! It might not sound like much, but this was a big step for her. Eventually she was even laughing and asking us to tickle Elmo some more. So, after a year of being shunned to the top shelf in our closet, Elmo is finally feeling like part of the family!See Abi keeping her distance in the background?
"If Emma can do this so can I!!!"
"I actually like this-this guy ain't so bad!"

So thank you Jim and Renae-better late than never, RIGHT???
