We saw (a little)...
THEY conquered!!!

Saturday we decided to attempt a movie with our girls. We haven't tried this since Steve's parents came out to visit right after Emma was born...it turned out to be a disaster so we hadn't tried again. We thought it would be fun to go see Wall-E with the kids. We got there just before the previews started, got Abi a booster seat so she could see better, got Abi her own popcorn, smuggled in licorice and water, and got ready for the show to start. The previews began and the girls were intrigued with this huge screen to watch, but then the previews kept going and going and going...almost a half hour later we thought the show was finally going to start..then a "short film" began. The girls loved this, they didn't take their eyes off the screen for the whole 5 minutes this was on. I was having high hopes at this point. The show starts next and Emma's getting alittle restless but doing ok and Abi's chowing on her popcorn and watching the movie. Then, about 15 minutes into the show Emma loses it and starts getting loud and trying to run away from us...I take her out for a minute. When I come back in I see Steve and Abi packing up and heading our direction. Well, we lasted in the theater for almost an hour, but only got to see about 15 minutes of the movie with all the previews and all. After paying almost $30 for a mantinee-I know Allison, you warned me-and only seeing 15 minutes of the movie, I don't think we'll be attempting that again for a while. Oh well, you win some you lose some!

Don't feel bad...it wasn't that good. My kids sat through it, BUT I almost didn't want them to...it was ok but after incredibles or CARS...no way jose! Ryan didn't sit through a movie till he was 4, ethan does now b/c he is a thumb sucker and will sit there and suck his thumb for three hours...i know I'm lucky with that...oh well it could be an excuse to by a projector and a huge white sheet! Thats what my BFF did....:)
Between the expensiveness and the junk food, I think you are right about making these jaunts few and far between. I agree with Lisa that it was only an okay show, a little sad, but with incredible animation. Hats off to you for making the attempt!
Um ya...been there, done that...not fun! Good try, though!
That is too bad :{ Zach has always sat through movies, but when we took them both to see Horton Hears A Who one of us had to stand in the back with Kayla the whole time. Luckily that was a dollar movie, or should i say $1.25, even dollar movies aren't a dollar anymore.Better luck next time, maybe in 5 years or so.
good to know. I think will wait a little longer before we get that brave.
We ended up seeing Wall-E again without our nieces and nephews because they were SO distracting! My kids didn't remember half the movie! But once we hit the flick again, just the 4 of us, it was a much more memorable and QUIET experience!
Oh, and by the way, I LOVED THE MOVIE!
