The Ringling Bros. Barnum and Bailey Circus arrived in Salt Lake yesterday. To kick it off they paraded the clowns and elephants through the Gateway Mall yesterday. We decided to trek on over and see it...I figured the girls would enjoy seeing it. We were supposed to meet up with Kat and some of her friends, but we got there right as it was starting so we decided to stay where we were to watch it so we didn't miss any of it. Boy were we glad we did-the parade lasted about 1 minute flat and then moved on past us. I kept hearing people around me saying exactly what I was thinking; "That was it?!?!?!" At least the kids got to see some clowns and elephants, plus we rode on Trax to get there and back-what kid doesn't love a train ride?
Here are pictures of the whole thing-with one exception-there were two llamas that came out with the clowns and that pic didn't work out.
The clowns started the parade...
Then some clowns in funny cars...

And the Grand Finale-the elephants!

It was exciting to go see this stuff up close, now we're just debating whether or not to take the girls to the actual circus-hmmm...

you guys had a better view! i wish we would have been up by you.
Okay - the elephants would definitely have been the coolest thing for me to see. That's so funny the parade only lasted a few minutes :)
wow there were a lot of elephants. looks like fun!
I think you just saw the circus right there. You had a great view, plus you don't have to pay the cost of food and gifts.
