Steve's been in and out of town the last few weeks so we've had many people take pity on us and keep us entertained. One thing that we got out and did that was a lot of fun was go to the Utah Museum of Natural History with Steve's parents. I've never been to this museum, it was great! We practically had the place to ourselves, so the kids were able to roam free and explore at their own quick pace.

The first stop was at their frog exhibit. Abi sat and watched this demonstration with this Leafy Tree Frog (I think that's what she called it, I can't remember for sure.) Abi was INTRIGUED!!! She even decided to name the frog Peek-A-Boo.

Emma was more interested in pics and running around.
Then it was on to the rock exhibit.

For some reason I really liked this particular rock-between the color and the shape I thought it was pretty neat.

They didn't stop to look at too many of the rocks-except the glow in the dark ones, those were pretty cool-but they loved this little mine.
After the rocks it was on to the BUGS!!! EEEWWWW!!! They had some pretty nasty bugs on display, so of them were HUGE! I think if I were to run into one of them on the street I'd probably pass out. But they did have this little puppet theatre with all sorts of bug puppets so Abi and Renae put on a little show for us...
We worked our way down to the dinosaur display. The girls love any excuse to dig and play in the sand, so they were thrilled that they could look for dino bones.

There was this life size dino footprint that Renae thought would be fun to let the girls lay in to compare their size to the size of the footprint. They thought it was fun to lay in it. Emma was unsure at first, but later she found her way back into this room and went and laid in it again on her own free will.

The last room we visited had some indian artifacts and teepees and some other neat things, but this little hut was by far the girls' favorite place. Abi showed us where she'd put all our furniture if we lived in it and Emma just enjoyed running in circles through it.
We had a great time and hope to go back soon, it was a lot of fun! I highly recommend this place, it's well worth the time!
