The birthday festivities!

Well, I am really behind on posting these pics, but here they are for all 2 of you that still read my blog :)

The Sunday before his birthday we invited a few friends over for dinner and then surprised them with a little birthday celebration for Jason-you only turn ONE once, right?!?! We had a great time and the girls were jumping off the walls with excitement.

THE cake (or cupcakes to be more accurate)! The girls helped me make it and added the food coloring to the frosting so we have them to thank for the beautiful, bold colors.
Jason was a little freaked out, he wasn't quite sure what was going on
He looked at it, but that was just about as close to it as he was going to get :)
"Mom, what is this THING you are trying to get me to touch???"
He had some great encouragement...
and great helpers but he sTiLL refused to dig in~
The morning of his actual birthday we started the day off right-with PRESENTS!!!
We got him a little basketball stand-this kid is a TRUE boy, he loves to play ball: football, basketball, throw around a soccer ball-he's not discriminating (I used that word just for you Kat)!
The girls tried to explain the game to Jas
Then we moved on to more gifts-this one was a hit with ALL 3 kids!
And the ELMO phone! I have seen so many kids with this phone but we have never owned one...well, the day before his birthday we were at the grocery store and they had this phone on sale for HALF price, well I couldn't pass up a deal like that!!! Jason LOVES this phone.
We also got him a balloon-a HUGE balloon!!! I picked this cute #1 out and took it over to the counter for the girl to blow it up, I thought it'd be maybe a foot tall or something...it's as BIG as JASON!!! But nothing's too GRAND for our BIG one year old!!!
WE LOVE YOU JASON!!!!!!!

What a fun little party. I smiled when I saw Andrew next to Jason trying to encourage him to eat the cupcake. Andrew LOVES babies, miss those Strong kids.

Jason is a handsome little guy, those eyes are to die for.
